“We lost our daughter, Kelsea, in 2017 because we were unable to obtain a ‘match’ for her, but perhaps, one day through a collective effort, many lives will be saved.

Most of us don’t realize we possess a phenomenal gift that could save a life. We can’t produce it on our own for it is a gift that only God gives. Project Life Movement encourages us to share that gift to preserve another’s life, and we are proud to partner on such an important mission.”

– Cynthia Randolph, mother of Kelsea Randolph (pictured)

In 1987, the “National Marrow Donor Program” was created to help people with blood cancers and conditions. It was created to connect patients, whose only chance for a cure is a bone marrow transplant, with volunteer donors.

In 1990, a group of forward-thinking Davidson College students asked for the support of their president, John Kuykendall, in developing a national registry to connect patients with potential bone marrow donors.

And, on March 13, 1990, that wish was granted.

Davidson College held its first “Project Life Bone Marrow Donor Recruitment Drive,” and as a result, approximately 500 students, staff, and faculty joined the Project Life Movement. This began a 30-year odyssey into saving the lives of people with blood cancers and conditions throughout the US.

In 2011, Project Life Movement was officially granted 501(c)3 nonprofit status by the United States IRS. Now, contributions are tax-deductible, and we can be even better stewards of your generosity and support.
